about

It was the 1980s and Huey Lewis & The News were my first musical obsession. Before anyone, I had their discography (on cassette.) So, it made sense for me to find some way to cover one of their classics in the context of the music I make today, either live or on record. I went with a half-way arrangement between the two. The samples came later. That's my buddy Randy Layton of Alternative Records fame (see my "A Rock So Big I Cain't" LP) reminding me "I'll be slicing" vocal takes together. He was right. I've also been a mail carrier by day. So there's that.

The B-side is an old gospel tune popularized by the likes of Ferlin Husky and Dolly Parton. Hope you enjoy my post-"alternative rock" rendition. These recordings have been mastered in high def!

Thanks, this was fun.
